Guanziling Hot Spring
This spring can be found in Baihe District, Tainan City. It was discovered way back — by Japanese troops — and soon became “Taiwan’s No. 1 Hot Spring” in 1920. Until today, this “mud spring” is extremely popular among local and foreign tourists.
Guanziling Hot Spring is located on the side of a mountain, where hotels, spring pools, and restaurants have been established. Also worth visiting within the area is Hongye Park, Biyung Temple, Daxian Temple, and Xiangong Temple.

Jiaoxi Hot Springs Park
Located in Yilan County, this is one of the attractions in Jiaoxi Hot Springs, which is known for its mineral-rich waters. The park features public hot springs and pools, set in a garden with a cafe. There’s also a visitor center where guests can go to for information and assistance.
Relaxing in Jiaoxi Hot Springs is believed to have health benefits, since the water contains calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, and carbonate ions.

Lisong Hot Spring
If you don’t mind hiking down a steep valley and crossing a river, you will reach one of Taiwan’s most magnificent natural wonders: Lisong Hot Spring. It can be found in Haiduan Township, Taitung County. Set in a river gorge, the spring is only accessible on foot, by following a trail from the Southern Cross-Island Highway.
Due to its location, it is safe to visit Lisong Hot Spring during the dry season only, from November to April.

Mingao Spring Resort
Mingao Spring Resort is located in Heping District, Taichung City, within the Guguan Hot Spring Scenic Area. The Guguan Hot Spring supplies water to all of the rooms in this resort-hotel. From the resort, visitors can easily reach other local destinations, such as Shuilai Trail, Guguan Hot Spring Cultural Center, and Baxian Mountain Forest Recreation Area.

Tai’an Hot Spring
Situated in Miaoli County, this spring was originally called “Ueshima Hot Spring” during the Japanese colonial period. In 1945, it was renamed “Hu Mountain Hot Spring” before finally becoming “Tai’an Hot Spring” in 1978. Notably, the spring courses through Jinshui Village, where many hot spring hotels and resorts are located.

Zhaori Hot Spring
To reach this hot spring, you’ll need to take a ferry to Green Island, which is located 33 kilometers off the main island of Taiwan. Originally called “Asahi Hot Spring” during the Japanese period, it is now known as “Zhaori Hot Spring.” The facility features a spa pool, three open-air pools, and five terrace-like pools.
What makes Zhaori Hot Spring unique is that it is one of only three “saltwater hot springs” in the world, along with the saltwater hot springs in Sicily, Italy and Kyushu, Japan.
