Taiwan Expo 2025 Set for Grand Return in Manila

After a six-year hiatus, the highly anticipated Taiwan Expo 2025 is making its comeback in the Philippines from September 17 to 19 at the SMX Convention Center in Manila. Organized by the Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the exhibition promises to showcase Taiwan’s latest innovations and strengthen bilateral business ties.

A press conference held on August 13 offered Philippine media and industry leaders a preview of what to expect, generating strong anticipation ahead of the event, as shared in this Business World Online report.

A Milestone in Taiwan-Philippines Relations

Woody Wang, deputy executive director of TAITRA, emphasized that Taiwan Expo 2025 marks a major milestone in Taiwan’s post-pandemic reengagement with the Philippines. He noted that the exhibition aligns with Philippine government policies, evolving market demands, and emerging consumer trends.

The event will highlight five key themes through dedicated pavilions: Green & Sustainability, Agritech & Aquatech, Health & Wellness, Smart Technologies, and Intelligent Lifestyle. More than 140 leading Taiwanese companies are set to participate, showcasing Taiwan’s industrial competitiveness and innovative capacity.

Dustin Teng-Shi Yang, minister of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines, stressed that Taiwan’s advanced technology and strong manufacturing base complement the Philippines’ expanding market and youthful workforce. Atty. Evangeline Q. de Leon of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) added that the Expo serves as a crucial platform for business exchange and market growth.

Bryan Ang, vice-president for trade of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), underscored that Taiwan’s reputation for innovation and agility can enhance industrial competitiveness and long-term cooperation between the two nations.

Innovation Across Five Themes

The product showcase at the press conference featured a wide range of cutting-edge solutions:

  • Agritech & Aquatech: MIC Meter Industrial Co., Ltd. unveiled its Bluetooth Soil Nutrition 9-in-1 Meter and AIoT Pig Counter Board for precision farming, while JNC Technology Co., Ltd. presented its Multi-channel Gas Detector and Water Sensor for smart agriculture.
  • Smart Technologies: AIRA Corp. introduced its airaTrack intelligent tracking solution, while Zyxel Networks showcased its cloud cybersecurity-enabled platforms.
  • Health & Wellness: ASUS highlighted ICT-based smart medical applications, while V5med, Inc. presented its AI-assisted V5med Lung AI software for precision diagnostics.
  • Green & Sustainability: hiPower Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd. demonstrated renewable hydrogen energy solutions, alongside Super Battery Co., Ltd.’s lithium battery innovations.
  • Intelligent Lifestyle: SHAAN HONQ INT’L COSMETICS CORP. launched a new high-tech haircare line, and Morita Biotech Co., Ltd. featured Taiwanese skincare products popular across Asia.

These innovations aim to address Philippine market needs in energy stability, food safety, healthcare accessibility, cybersecurity, and lifestyle improvements.

 

Strong Interest from Business Community

The press conference drew active participation from industry associations, chambers of commerce, and Taiwanese community groups, reflecting robust support for the Expo. Stakeholders from both sides see the event as a springboard for new partnerships in technology, sustainability, and health.
