Applying for a Taiwan Police Clearance Certificate is pretty much a straightforward process. But before anything else, let us talk about some of the reasons or purposes for getting this document.

Reasons for Getting a Police Clearance Certificate

A police clearance certificate may come in handy when you’re applying for a job, getting a professional license, migrating to another country, or other purposes, as follows:

Applying for a Job

Most employers require a police clearance certificate as part of their recruitment process. This document serves as proof that you are trustworthy and you have a “clean record,” which improves your chances of getting hired.

Requirements

When applying for a Taiwan Police Clearance Certificate, be sure to prepare these documents:

  • Two (2) original copies of Accomplished and Signed Police Record Certificate Application Form;
  • Three (3) photocopies of Philippine Passport Data Page; and
  • Three (3) photocopies of Taiwan Alien Resident Certificate (Front Side).

NOTE: Each photocopy of the Philippine Passport Data Page and Taiwan Alien Resident Certificate must be signed by the applicant.

Procedure

Step1: Once you’ve gathered all the requirements, contact MECO Manila and/or MECO ATN for processing through these email addresses:

Step 2: You’ll need to submit all the necessary documents, and also pay the following fees: (a) Processing Fee – PHP 2,000.00; and (b) Additional Copy – PHP 100.00.

Step 3: After making the payment, you will receive an acknowledgement receipt; keep this since you’ll need to show it to claim your police clearance certificate. If you want to have it delivered via courier to any Philippine address, you’ll need to pay an additional fee, as well.

Step 4: Your application will be sent to MECO Taipei office for processing. Later, MECO Manila will notify you once your police clearance certificate has been released and is available for claiming.
